Betty I. Lewis

Betty I. Lewis, of Benton, 70, born into this world on March 24, 1940 received unto the Lord on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at her residence. She was retired from Hardwick Clothes. She was an avid Tennessee sports fan. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Padgett Lewis; brothers, J.T. Lewis and James Lewis; and sister, Mary Ellen Moore She is survived by her daughter, DeAnna Moore of Cleveland; brothers, Oliver Eugene Lewis of Cleveland, Houston Lewis and wife, Brenda of Knoxville and Larry 'Diddle' Lewis and wife, Brenda and Frankie Lewis, all of Benton; special niece, Angie King of Delano; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Blanche Rymer of Greasy Creek and Irene Brown and Ozella Godfrey, both of Benton. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Harold Firestone officiating. Interment will be Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Benton Memorial Gardens with Wendell 'Buster' Lewis, Steve Lewis, Jamie Lewis, Tony Moore, Rocky King and John Lewis serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Brenda Davis Fund, 315 Worth Street, Cleveland, TN 37311 to help indigent patients to receive cancer treatment.
