Beloved husband, father and brother, William Neal Pippenger died suddenly on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his home.
He retired from Bowater Newsprint as Electrical/Instrument Foreman after 38 years of service. He graduated from Polk County High School, class of 1961 and of the Baptist faith. Neal enjoyed fishing and just being outdoors on his tractor and loved spending time with family and friends, especially his daughters and was always willing to help friends and family any way he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Hoyt and Louise Pippenger; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Ed Lee.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ellen Crumley Pippenger; two daughters, Valerie Pippenger of Woodstock, Georgia and Karen Pippenger of Loveland, Ohio; brothers, Johnny (Jean) Pippenger of Benton, Tennessee, Dean (Diahana) Pippenger of Guild, Tennessee and Kenneth (Sandra) Pippenger of Tullahoma, Tennessee; sister-in-law, JoAnn Hannah; several nieces and nephews; life-long best friend, Freeman Curbow, and the “Hardee’s Gang”, John Bramlett, Junior Bramlett and Charles Lawson.
A Celebration of Life graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Benton Station Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Joel Jenkins officiating.
