Tim Blackwell, 70, said his final farewell to this world on February 6, 2023, in Sweetwater, TN.
He was born on February 19, 1952, in Cleveland, to the late Foy I. and Bertie M. Blankenship Blackwell.
Through his many travels of the world, his mischievous nature and outgoing personality was formed. Tim never met a stranger and always had a smile and joke for you. A deployment to Vietnam, in the Army, took him to exotic places such as Japan, Germany, England, France and Holland. He served in the TN National Guard after his tour of Vietnam. After his retirement from the military, he served as a paramedic for Polk County, also serving the citizens of Polk County as Chief of Police in Benton. Tim enjoyed fast cars, boating, and his family and friends. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and The Ford Club. His presence on this Earth, though greatly missed, will forever be etched in our hearts.
In addition to his parents, Foy I., and Bertie M. Blankenship Blackwell, he was preceded by his sister, Connie R. Blackwell.
Left to cherish the many memories include his beloved children, Melia Pope, Lisa Kozma, Jeremy Blackwell, all of Cleveland and Yulia (Courtney) White of Chattanooga; adored grandchildren, Kimberely Blackwell, Mekelle Muncy, Christian Blackwell, Cayden Pope, Ceraya Pope, Madilyn Palmer, Breelyn Kozma, Jaxson Kozma, Kellen White and Korina White; one great-grandchild, Natalie Osborne; sisters, Delores (Gary) Dixon and Nancy Blackwell, both of Benton.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hazlewood officiating.
