Stella Mae Duggan, 99, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on February 7, 2022.
She was born on July 4, 1922, in Polk County, Tennessee to the late Charlie and Bessie Long Bradford.
Stella was of the Baptist faith and at the time of her passing, was the oldest living member at Benton Station Baptist Church. She loved attending and gathering with her friends at Happy Hearts each month. Stella especially enjoyed her Saturday outings with her special friends, Teresa, Peggy and Marj. Ms. Duggan was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Charlie and Bessie Bradford, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilbert Duggan; children, Tim Duggan, Carolyn Evans, and Don Duggan; grandson, John Pope.
Left to cherish the many memories include her loving grandchildren, Cindy Wilcox, Tina (Donald) Higdon, and Tammy (Wendel) King, Ann Duggan Pryor, Candi (Terry) Wattson and Lacey Duggan; five great-grandchildren, Anthony Higdon, Sadie King, Landon Pryor, Cameron Shelton, and Catlyn Shelton; two great-great grandchildren, Emily Rotan, and Ian Higdon; one great-great-great grandchild, Milah Rotan; special friends, Peggy Alford, Teresa Yates and Marj Alford. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Potts and Reverend Joel Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens with Wendel King, Cameron Shelton, Landon Pryor, David Powell, Charlie Bradford, Eddie Wilcox, and Charlie Dalton serving as pallbearers.
Family and friends will gather from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
