Ruth Seay, 90, of Benton, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at her side.
She was a life-long resident of Polk County, born on May 8, 1931, to the late Harvey and Lillie Mae Cronan. Our Mamaw enjoyed sitting on her front porch in her rocking chair visiting with family and friends. Not a Sunday went by that she did not have Sunday dinner on the table after church for the whole family. If you came to her house, she would make sure that you had eaten. She also loved to work puzzles on her kitchen table and was one of the strongest, most kind and generous ladies that God has ever placed on this Earth. She worked hard her whole life and was the glue that held the family together.
In addition to her parents, Harvey and Lillie Mae Cronan, Ruth was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harley Seay; granddaughters, Carol Keith and Sabrina Seay; siblings, Virgil “Jack” Cronan, William “Bill” Cronan, Frank “Slick” Cronan, Burch Cronan, Bobby Gene Cronan, Bud Cronan, and Flossie “Honey-Bee” Wooten.
Left to cherish the memory of Ms. Ruth Seay are her beloved children, Eddie Seay, Linda (Roy) Keith, Mary (Ray) Corvin, David Seay, and Johnny (Brenda) Seay; grandchildren, Paula Seay Burris, Anthony “Dude” Seay, Jackie Keith Rogers, Jennifer Keith Johnson, Melissa Keith, Scott Corvin, Chris “Mouth” Corvin, Dava Seay, Tasha Seay Humphrey, Brian “Herb” Seay, and Danny Ray “Dino” Seay; twenty-three great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Pearl Coleman; special friend, Lucille Wooten; and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
