Roy A. Frazier

Roy A. Frazier, age 80, of Benton, TN passed away April 9, 2019 at his home.  He graduated from PCHS, Class of 1956.  He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church of Benton for 63 years where he served in many capacities throughout the years.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, including his 12 great grandchildren.  

Roy was involved with the little league football and baseball programs and coached as his sons grew up.  He had many good friends with whom he and Erlene enjoyed camping, boating and traveling.  He worked for Hardwick Stove for 43 years and retired as a supervisor from Maytag.  After retiring, he volunteered with the Polk County Food Bank, People Helping People and the Candlelighter’s Fun Day, spending many hours preparing the “gingerbread house”. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Arvil Steve Frazier; mother, Chassie Mae Arthur Frazier; special cousin, Trinalo Crider. 

He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Erlene Maynor Frazier; children, Jan (Marvin) Rogers, Ricky (Janice) Frazier, Randy (Colleen) Frazier all of Benton, TN; grandchildren, Jeremy (Christy) Rogers, Justin Frazier, Jared (Jessica) Frazier, Angel (Matt) Royse all of Cleveland, TN, Christy (Russ) Swafford, Miranda (J.D.) Bell of Chattanooga, TN, Jill (Zachary) Swafford of Benton, TN and Brandie (Adam) Wolfe of Delano, TN; great grandchildren, Landon and Gavin Rogers, Jaxon and Taylor Swafford, Riley Frazier, Pierce and Reece Swafford, Lilli and Mason Royse, Cameron and Dylan Wolfe and Hattie Bell.  Several nieces, nephew and extended family members also survive. 

Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Benton, TN with Reverend Joel Jenkins and Reverend Charles Cheatham officiating.  Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Benton, TN.  

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the church prior to the service.
