Robert “Bob” Ramsey, 58, of Greasy Creek, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, departed this life on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at his mother’s residence.
Bob was born on December 25, 1962, in Cleveland, Tennessee to Ms. Helen Lewis Ramsey and the late Harold “Whitey” Ramsey. He was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church and was a Class of 1981 graduate from Polk County High School. Spending most of his time outdoors, Bob had a love for hunting and fishing. He owned and operated Bob Ramsey Construction, which is an extraordinary example of his commitment, talent, and drive to succeed. As successful as Bob was at business it only pales in comparison to his social and community involvements which led to many life-long friendships. A friend to many, Bob will be dearly missed by each person that was blessed to call him a friend. His love for his family was shown daily by his smile and presence, which will be forever remembered.
In addition to his father, Harold “Whitey” Ramsey, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ben and Elsie Ramsey and maternal grandparents, Jack and Nell Lewis.
Left to cherish the many memories include his loving mother, Helen Lewis Ramsey; beloved brothers, Brad (Lisa) Ramsey, Bryan (Karen) Ramsey; nieces and nephews, Matthew Ramsey, Allyson Ramsey, Rusty (Heather) Ramsey, Nicholas Ramsey, Brooke Ramsey, and Chloey Ramsey. A host of special friends and colleagues also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Higgins Funeral Home with Minister Steve Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Greasy Creek Cemetery with Mike Ingram, Tim Rymer, Dale Dockery, Steve Harbison, Tim Lewis, Joe Coblentz, and Matthew Ramsey serving as pallbearers.
Friends and family will gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
