Katie Sue Blackwell, 78, of Benton, departed this life on April 20, 2022.
She was born on June 6, 1943, in Benton, Tennessee to the late Sam and Nancy Blackwell.
Throughout life, Ms. Katie was known of her love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her sister. She enjoyed the outdoors, watching gameshows, news, and the Hallmark channel in her spare time. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Sam and Nancy Blackwell, she was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Benny Blackwell and Arlin Blackwell; loving granddaughter, Whitney Bridges and adored great-granddaughter, Madison Ballew.
Left to cherish the many memories include her loving children, Rebecca (Rick) Bridges, Mellissa (Gary) Cronan, Sandy (Scott) Farris, Nola Burger, and Sammy Blackwell; sister, Mary (Charles) Elliott; grandchildren, Heather (Joey) Ezell, Trisha (Carl) Warfield, Anthony (Candice) Cronan, Nicholas Burger, Samantha (James) Rymer, Savannah (Alfee) Bridges, Finley Bridges, Hannah Smith and Logan Ballew. Several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Peyton Stewart, Pastor Carl Haulk and Rev. Tracy Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow at Old Ocoee Cemetery with Rick Bridges, Timothy Keith, Peyton Stewart, Carl Warfield, Mike Pike, and Chris Keith serving as pallbearers.
Family and friends will gather from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
