Hoyt E. Teague

April 11, 1933 — April 13, 2021

Hoyt Teague, 88, of Delano, passed away on the evening of April 13, 2021. 

He was retired military, upholsterer, and truck driver.  Hoyt enjoyed picking guitar and playing music with friends.  He built the family home in Delano from the ground up.  Hoyt could fix anything, and often liked working with his hands and rebuilding Cushman Scooters.  He was co-captain with Dr. Clyde Kile for the Bradley Bear Basketball Team in 1952 and inducted into “The Old Timers Club Hall of Fame in 2005.

Hoyt was preceded in death by his loving parents, Raymond and Ruby Jo Teague; brother, C.R. “Sonny” Teague.

Hoyt was survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Reba Ownby Teague; children, Carlene Pruett, Douglas Teague and Steven Teague; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Ella Jo Keller, Daris Gossett, Barbara Langdon; brothers, Omar Teague and Edwin Teague; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and management of Etowah Health Care for their kindness and care of Hoyt over the last year and a half.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
