Dorothy Maye Dishman, 82, of Delano, departed this life on September 11, 2022, with those she loved most at her side.
“Gran” was born on April 24, 1940, in Cherokee, North Carolina to the late Luther and Lillie Baker Weaver. Throughout life, she developed a love for shopping, her family, and worshipping her Lord and Savior. She was a member of the Ocoee Church of God, a faithful fan to her grandkids at all the sporting events and was a true family lady that loved while cherishing every moment she was blessed with them.
Our Gran was forever loved by each who had the blessing to have known her and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Luther and Lillie Baker Weaver, she was preceded by her beloved husband, Carl Edward Dishman; son, John Dishman; and brother, Cecil Weaver.
Left to cherish the many memories include her loving daughter, Linda Franklin; granddaughter, Marlena (Gary) Miller; great-grandkids, Zachary (Cheyenne) Miller, Megan (Bryson) Bishop, Timmy Miller, Haley (Daniel) Stinnett, and Samantha (Travis) Wilcox; great-great grandchildren, Zander Miller, Riley Miller, Maryann Bishop, Malachi Stinnett, Jayden Stinnett, Nevaeh Stinnett, Jacob Wilcox, Abby Wilcox, Samuel Williams, and Andrew Williams; siblings, Junior Weaver, Daniel (Eloise) Weaver, and Harvey (Eileen) Weaver. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and church family also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Ocoee Church of God, with Pastor Mike Whitmire officiating. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the church.
