Clyde “Dwight” Crook passed away peacefully on April 29, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 28, 1954, to the late Denver Dean Crook and Veneta Wooten Crook Blevins.
Dwight enjoyed being a river guide for many years along with the many motorcycle adventures on his Harley-Davidson. He worked for TVA and was also a member of Carpenters Local 74 in Chattanooga, Tennessee for 40 years. In his retirement, he loved feeding his hummingbirds and gardening. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by sibling Dean Crook.
Left to cherish the many memories include his beloved children, Lisa (Nick) Gregory of Cleveland, and Austin Crook of Benton; cherished grandchildren, Makayla Crook, Devin Lurcock, and Grace Crook; brother, Mike Bain of Delano; sister Cheryl (Allan) Case of Alabama. Several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Brother Jerry Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at Chestuee Worship Center Church Cemetery, with Daniel Blackwelder, Devin Lurcock, James Goins, Mike Trawick, Brent Bazemore, Moses Forster serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Powers, and John Thomason.
Family and friends will gather from 12:00 (noon) – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
