Bette Thomason

Bette Thomason passed away peacefully at her home in Oak Ridge, TN, on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.  She was born on August 25, 1929 in Ocoee, TN.

She never met a stranger and loved everybody.  She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan!  She loved to travel, shop and cook great meals. 

Bette was of the Baptist faith.  She loved the Lord and spoke often of her desire to go to Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Alfred J. Thomason of Warren, OH; loving mother, Ethelean Qualls Howard; her step-father, Eldon Howard; brothers, Charles Willis Howard of Ocoee and Larry Howard of Charleston, TN.

She is survived by her sisters, Opal Deverell of Ocoee, TN and Connie (Melvin) Wright of Delano, TN; sister-in-law, Charolette Howard of Charleston, TN; several nieces and nephews and a special angel friend, LuLu Orange of Oak Ridge, TN.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Tazz Reid officiating.  Interment will follow at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 prior to the service at the funeral home.
