Howard Allen Shipley

Abe Shipley, age 45, a resident of Madisonville and formerly of Benton, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2005 in a Sweetwater hospital. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and employed with Rogers Trucking in Delano. His father, Johnny Shipley, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Shipley of Cleveland; mother, Anna Bell Blackwell of Benton; four children and their spouses: Mary Ann and Chris Orr of Birchwood, Johnny and Denise Shipley of Benton, Auanita Grissim of Knoxville, Troy and Liz Massengill of Benton; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Penny and Keith McCall of Washington, Brenda and Wayne Pike of Benton, and Ginger and Steve Collins of Greenback; three brothers: Randall Shipley and Frankie Blackwell, both of Benton, and Albert Blackwell and wife Glenda of Tellico; five grandchildren; girl friend, Judy Harrill of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Lee Paul officiating. Interment will follow in the Pike Family Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
