Junior E. Wilcox, age 70, a life long resident of Polk County, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2006. Junior was an avid farmer and sawmill worker for most of his life. He was known by many and was loved by all who knew him. Mr. Wilcox was the son of the late Charlie and Nole Wilcox and was also preceded in death by two infant children.

He is survived by his wife, Imogene Wilcox; children: Everett Wilcox, Roger Wilcox, Gene Wilcox and Jamie Wilcox; step children: Kenneth Carver, Bobby and Nina Carver, Mary and Dale Steels; several grandchildren: Eric and Donna Carver, Joey and Cassie Carver, Charity Carver, Jessica and Jeremy Blackwell, Heather Carver, Jordan Steels and Clayton Steels; great-grandchildren: Alexis and Grayson Carver, Grace Carver, Marcus Carver, Kimberly and Christian Blackwell and Alecia Carver; step-mother, Charslie Wilcox of Delano; four brothers and spouses: W. G. and Blanca Wilcox of Orlando, FL, Columbus and Euna Faye Wilcox of Delano, James Wilcox of Delano and Carroll Lynn Wilcox of Delano; five sisters and spouses: Leeora and Carl Price of Reliance, Irene and Winston Shelton of Delano, Jessie and Johnny Russell of Delano, Virginia Wilcox, and Mary Ann and Alfred Ferry, all of Etowah; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Gregg officiating.

His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
