Reba Nell Lewis

REBA NELL SMITH LEWIS, 92, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010, in a Chattanooga health facility. She was a lifelong resident of Polk County, She graduated from Polk Co. High School in 1936 and was a member of Benton Station Baptist Church. She was retired from American Uniform. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. V. H. (Jack) Lewis; her parents, E. E. and Zoe Haskin Smith; 2 granddaughters, Peggy Lewis and Patricia Walch; 3 brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews. Survivors include her children, Vernon H. and Anne Marie Lewis, Helen and Harold Ramsey, Ronny and Charlene Lewis, all of Benton, Jackie and Ogle Ingram, of Reliance, Larry and Lena Lewis of Benton, Jimmy and JoAnn Lewis of Benton, and H.R. Lewis of Cleveland; 14 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at 11:00 A.M., in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Bennie Thomas and Rev. Joel Jenkins. Interment will follow in the Hiawassee Union Cemetery, Reliance, TN. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. The family will receive friends Monday, November 22, 2010, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
