Lake Edward Parks, 88, a resident of Etowah passed away Friday, February 25, 2011 in an Etowah healthcare facility. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was a former salesman for Eltroux Vacuums. Mr. Parks was the son of the late William Parks and Jennie Calhoun Parks and was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Maynor Parks and brother, Herbert Parks. He is survived by his son, Charles Parks of Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Della Parks of Benton; three grandchildren, Mathew Parks of Chattanooga, Eric Parks and wife Erwin of Cleveland and Bryan Parks of Cleveland; three great great grandson's, sister-in-laws, Ruby Parks of Delano, Mildred Jones of Benton, and Margaret Lively of Ocoee. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Jasper Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the funeral home prior to the service.
