William Gene Cody

William Gene "Bill" Cody, 70, of Old Fort, TN, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at a Chattanooga hospital after losing his battle with cancer. He was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church in Ocoee, TN. He was born on January 28, 1941 in Maben, Wyoming County, West Virginia. He was a member of The First Tennessee Families Association. He was a retired material handling site superintendent with Intelligrated Systems, Inc. in Mason, Ohio. He served as an SP4 in Co. A, 3d Med. Bn. of the United States Army in Aschaffenburg, Germany. He enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife, family and friends. Son of the late Lester Harold Cody and his wife the former Nannie May Bledsoe; he was also preceded in death by his brother, Billy Harold Cody of Mountain City, GA. His survivors include his wife of 34 years, Rose Marie Farist Cody; four sons: Wendell Gene Cody and his wife Bobbi of Centennial, CO, Alan Chuck Greer and his wife Denise of Acworth, GA, Timothy D. Greer and his wife Missy of Dallas, GA and Willard Keith Greer and his wife Tracy of Old Fort, TN; one daughter, Lesa Diane Cody of Aurora, CO; one brother, Lester Wayne Cody of Acworth, GA; two sisters, Norma Lucille Cody Oliver of Auburn, GA and Betty May Cody Kendall of Canton, GA; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A casual memorial honoring his memory and celebrating his life will be held at Beech Springs Baptist Church, 2328 Horns Creek Road, Ocoee, TN on March 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a dinner for family and friends.
