Michael Lynn Jenkins

Michael "Whitey" Lynn Jenkins, 45, a life long resident of Benton, passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at the family residence. He was employed with Byrds Electric. He was a member of the Benton Church of Christ. Mr. Jenkins was the son of the late Walter and Dora Lawson Jenkins and was also preceded in death by his niece, Kimberly Works and brother, Teddy Jenkins. He is survived by his two sisters: Elizabeth Martin of Cleveland and Brenda Yarber of Benton; four brothers: Joe Henry Jenkins and wife Jannie of Benton, Freddie Jenkins of Cleveland, Terry Jenkins and wife Amanda of Benton, Delbert Jenkins and wife Debbie of Benton; nephew, Blake Baxter; aunt, Elsie Wooten of Benton; uncle, Bobby Stewart of Benton; special friend, Joan Hammons; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Tony Duggan and Reverend Charles Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Old Ocoee Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Tracey Rogers, Randy Evans, Daniel Willis, Ronnie Price, Scottie Trentham, Robbie Payne, Tony Sipe and Terry Stone will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
