Joseph William Wilson

Joseph "Joe" Wilson, 72, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in Lebanon, TN. He was a native of Cleveland, but lived in Benton since 1969. He retired from Esstee Manufacturing as a welder. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed dancing and lived life to its fullest. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ann Wood Wilson and sister, Doris Ann Russell. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Etta Mae Wilson of Benton; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Pendergrass of Cleveland; 2 grandchildren, Carolanna Marie Towle and Crystal Nichole Ladd, both of Cleveland; 5 great grandchildren; brother, James Mack Wilson of Benton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Millwood officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with military honors. David Cabrera, William Cabrera, Avery Ladd, Blake Cash, Chris Womble and Sam Cabrera will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
