Evelyn Hedden Mason

Evelyn Alene Hedden Mason, 71, a life-long resident of Benton, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2011 in a local hospital. She and her late husband, Herbert Hoover Mason, were owners of a local grocery store in Englewood. She was a member of Calvary Church of God. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, William M. and Millie Dalton Hedden; twin children, Dennis Wade Shell and Deborah Ann Shell (as an infant); the father of her children, Oscar Wade Shell; brother, Doug Hedden; sister, Ruth Garrett and husband, Harold; and brothers-in-law, Red Newton and Reverend Bill Colley. She is survived by daughter, Robin Denise Shell Rodgers; daughter-in-law, Tami Shell; grandchildren, Thomas Joseph Wade Rodgers and wife, Jennifer, Hoover Justin Merrial Rodgers and Abigale Denise Rodgers; great grandchildren, Gabrielle Denise Rodgers, Joseph Daniel Wade Rodgers, Emileigh Mae Rodgers and Jenson Tyler Shell Rodgers; sisters, Edith Newton, Peggy Presswood and husband, R. A. Presswood and Lecia Colley; twin brothers, Dean Hedden and wife, Betty and Joseph Hedden and wife, Cybil; sister-in-law, Marie Hedden; several nieces and nephews; and her closest friend, Mary Ann Dalton Carver. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Hedden Cemetery with Pastor Samuel Stiles and Pastor Paul Gregg officiating.
