Thomas Earl Dobbs

Thomas Earl Dobbs, 70, of Cleveland, and a former resident of Benton, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 in an Etowah healthcare facility. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Old Ocoee Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Ola Jane Kirkland Dobbs. He is survived by his twin sons, Larry Earl Dobbs and Gary James Dobbs of Munich, Germany; sister, Peggy Waters of Cleveland; special niece, Glenda Morrow of Cleveland; niece, Carla Abney of Nobleton, FL; nephews, Randy Lee of Benton and Jerry Prichett of Navarre, FL; great niece and nephew, Rena Shell of Cleveland and Tony Lee of Dawnville, GA; special aunt, Minnie Price of Reliance; a very close and dear friend, Rod Swallows of Cleveland; and many truck driving buddies. He is also survived by Kara Tulloss, a very dear person to the entire family. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend David Qualls and the Reverend Jerry Prichett officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
