Gary "Frog" Fields

April 1, 1947 — September 10, 2013

Gary "Frog" Fields, 66, of Ocoee, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at his residence. He was a retired barber. Gary was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where he loved being a musician. He was also part of several gospel groups. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Iva Seymour Fields; son, Stacy Fields; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Effler Fields of Ocoee; children, Rodney Fields and wife, Jessica and Valerie Parris and husband, Matt, all of Cleveland and Jason "JJ" Fields of Benton; grandchildren, Alexis Fields, Jaxon Fields, Hunter Sherlin and Kyler Parris; brother, Don Fields and wife, Mary Jane of Reliance; sisters, Jan Fields of Thorn Hill and Betty Fields of Maynardville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Fairview Baptist Church with the Reverends Bobby Green, Charles Moore and Roy "Buster" Fox officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with Brian Fields, Floyd Taylor, Stacey Hayes, Froney Rymer, Alvin Hixson and Carson Bain serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Green and Dewey Cheatham. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home.
