Mary Casson

Mary Casson, 87, a resident of Benton, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 in an Athens healthcare facility. She was of Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Derl and Bessie Shelton Woody, brothers, J.D. Woody, Taft Woody, and Warren Woody, and one grandchild, Lora Denise Cross. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Cross and husband, Johnny of Benton; grandchildren, Gary and Angie Cross, Greg and Jennifer Cross and Krystle and Shawn McCoig; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Eli and Warren Cross and Cadence, Lylah and Barrett McCoig; sister, Janie Cheatham of Benton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in Benton Memorial Gardens.
