Robert R. Beckler

Robert R. Beckler, 86, a resident of Cookson Creek Community passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 in a Cleveland, TN healthcare facility. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and his garden was the envy of the community. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Andrew and Fannie Katherine Watson Beckler; son, William E. "Eddie" Beckler; brothers, Clifford Kerr, Woodrow Beckler, Clarence Beckler, Gilbert Beckler, Tom Beckler; sisters, Martha Beckler, Mary Beckler Edwards, Maybelle Beckler Teasley, Bonita Beckler Green, Beulah Beckler Price. He is survived by his wife, Gertha Hinkey Johnson Beckler and they would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on Wednesday, April 15, 2015; daughters Margaret Marie and husband Dr. Bobby Atkins of Loganville, GA, Janice Regina Milen, Ocoee, TN; son, Jerry Robert and wife Lisa Beckler of Ocoee, TN; grandchildren, Stacy Beckler, Chris Beckler, Amy Harden, Kelley Lee, Adam Atkins, Angi Cross, Andrew Milen, Lori Milen, Dustin Woods; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Cookson Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Rick Woody, Reverend Mike Rymer and Dr. Bobby Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home and Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Cookson Creek Baptist Church from 12:00-1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
