Billie L. Carroll

Billie L. Carroll, 70, of Reliance, TN passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family. Known to many as "Miss Billie" she loved and cared for numerous children during her ownership of Billie The Kids Place. She was a devoted wife, mother, granny and sister. She loved traveling and also working with her flower gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Carrie Jenkins Bates; brothers, Wilford Bates and Ray Bates; sister, Annette Hooper. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Tony Carroll; sons, Gary "P-hoot" Carroll (companion Kelly Pickel), David "Cicero" (Deborah) Carroll, Jonathan "Bump" Carroll; grandchildren, Alison Carroll, Courtney Carroll, Cody Young, Taylor Carroll, Autumn Carroll, Carson Carroll, Chloe Carroll, Summer Carroll; brothers, Ross (Mary) Bates, Danny Bates, Jimmy Bates, Jerold Bates and Mickey (June) Bates; sisters, Nina (Eddie) Rowland, Kay (Jim) Woodruff, Doreen Bates. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to thank Carrie Watson and Melissa Burrell of Amedisys Hospice for loving and caring for her this past year. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Eddie Rowland officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2015 in Burchfield Cemetery, Springtown, TN. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2014 at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Ross Bates, Danny Bates, Mickey Bates, Mark Morgan, Gary "Punk" Dalton, William "Tick" Lee. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Bates, Jerold Bates, Carson Carroll. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105-3678.
