Joyce Moorhouse

Barbara Joyce Moorhouse, 85, of Ocoee, TN passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at her residence. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Ocoee, TN and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking and canning and time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were always at the center of her attention. She enjoyed shopping and she will always be remembered for her pleasant smile and even temperament. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Roger Howard, and her mother Dovie Ann Rogers Howard; sisters, Virginia Wiley, Billie Ann McClary, and little brother Kenneth Roger Howard, Jr. She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Charles Elmer Moorhouse, Sr., her children Charles E. "Byrd" Moorhouse, Jr. and wife Joyce Cronan Moorhouse, Joel Dean Moorhouse and wife Robbi Presswood Moorhouse, and Kenneth Walter Moorhouse and wife Aleta Hannah Moorhouse, five grandchildren, Walter Patrick Moorhouse, Amanda Joy Moorhouse, K.R. Moorhouse, Sydney Moorhouse Breedlove, and Joel Dean "Joey" Moorhouse, II, and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Ryan Keith and Chloe Katherine Dunn; sister,Sue and husband Jimmy Campbell; brother, Eddie and wife Judy Howard. After retiring as a beautician for over thirty-five years, she devoted many years to caring for her grandchildren and her family. She enjoyed holidays, especially Christmas. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm, Thursday, October 22, 2015 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, Benton, TN. Funeral services will follow visitation at 8 pm, with the Rev. Charles Campbell, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church officiating. A private, graveside burial will be on Friday, October 23 at Benton Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are: Walter Patrick Moorhouse, K.R. Moorhouse, Joey Moorhouse, Stan Howard, Nick Breedlove and Kevin Dunn. Barry Massengill and Brian Massengill are honorary pallbearers.
