Nancy Passmore Sloan

After a courageous battle with cancer and spending lots of time with family and friends, Nancy Passmore Sloan of Benton passed away on September 13, 2018 at the age of 74.

Nancy was a majorette at Polk County High School where she met her true love, Johnny Sloan.  She graduated from Hiwassee College, and they married and raised their family in Conasauga, where she managed the office at American Uniform Company.  Nancy is a member of Conasauga River Baptist Church and was blessed by Pastor Jackie Martin. 

Nancy is survived by her son and family, Derrick and Deanna Sloan, Sydney Sloan and fiancé Coty Farmer, and Seth Sloan; daughter and family, Christy and Joel Trevino and Emma Trevino; sister in love, Brenda Martin.  She was proceeded in death by her husband, Johnny Sloan, and her parents, James and Ruth Passmore. 

Nancy was blessed with several close friends who brightened her days including Sherry Passmore Waldroup, Peggy Cross, Christie Dean Miracle, Vera Welch, Helen Rose, Inez Stiles, Sula Jenkins, Virginia Smith, and friends from Happy Hearts and her high school graduating class who still meet for lunch every month.  Nancy received compassionate care from several doctors and nurses including Dr. Raul Vila, Dr. Larry Schlabach, and the Amedisys Hospice staff. 

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 16th, 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, followed by a grave side service at the Tennga Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday, September 17th, 2:00 pm.
