James Brown

August 31, 1939 — January 20, 2020

James Brown, 80, of Benton, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2020.

James retired from Volunteer Electric. He was a faithful member of Delano Baptist Church. James was an ordained deacon. He was a member of Ocoee Lodge 212.

He was preceded in death by his parents; James Elise Brown and Marie Bates Brown; and brother, Charles Brown.

Survivors include his loving wife; Geneva Brown; beloved sons, David (Janet) Brown, Thomas (Leslie) Brown, Chris (Ginger) Brown; grandchildren, Erica (Zach McIntruff) Brown Williams, Matthew (Ashleigh Akins) Brown, Brittany Brown, Ethan Brown, Corey Brown, Steven Brown, and Ashli Brown; great-grandchildren; Kelsey Williams, Tucker Williams, Addison Williams, Korbyn McIntruff, Parker Brown, Aubree Brown, Henry Everard, and Wesley Laughlin.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Cheatham officiating.

His family will receive friends from 5:00 --7:00 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the Brown family requests that you send any donations to the Polk County Food Bank at 346 Grove Rd. Benton, TN 37307.
